NotYetRated.co.uk is a site run out of a bedroom by just four, humble students of the University of Leeds. Yet to be corrupted by the cruel realities of working life, spirits high and untouched by the crushing cynicism of today's Britain and with far too much free time available, rudely interrupted by the occasional lecture or tutorial, we've set out on this ambitious, but modest project. We want nothing more than to bring intelligent and informed thoughts on the continuing developments in the cinema world, as well as independent and enthusiastic views and reviews of film's latest releases. And if we happen to make a few people laugh in the process, be that at or with us, well then that's a very rewarding bonus.
We regularly post news and previews about any cinema occurrences we deem interesting, reviews of all the biggest and important new film releases, as well as regular features, such as the well-respected (and patented) Josh-o-meter™ which gives accurate readings of the level of interest among the general public for an upcoming picture, plus looks back into cinematic history to dig up some of our favourite classics for recommendation, and much more.
We also give the occasional coverage to the small screen, giving opinions on what happened on the box last night, as well as recommendations of the latest and best series on TV, plus looks across the Atlantic at some of America's best shows which are yet to make it this side of the pond.
It's hard to promote a website like this among the litany of film sites and amateur reviewers all across the internet, but we genuinely believe that there is nothing out there quite like NotYetRated. In an industry dominated by the American money-making machine of Hollywood, brainless blockbuster-loving teenagers and pretentious Francophile reviewers, there's little out there centred on an intelligent, British student population which is thirsty for smart but honest, intellectual but frank thought and opinion on film.
